Esther Wertheimer
Born in Poland, Esther Wertheimer has lived most of her life in Montreal. Her artistic talent has allowed her to travel far and wide around the globe. Besides holding art exhibitions in major cities around the world, her monumental sculptures are also displayed permanently in Canada, USA, Japan and very soon in Singapore. A winner of numerous art awards, Wertheimer has received letters of appreciation and commendation from US Presidents to Nobel Prize Laureates.
Age is not a barrier for Esther Wertheimer. At 70 years old, Wertheimer plays tennis, does ballroom dancing and travels around the world with as much passion as she has for her art. In spite of her demanding schedule, Wertheimer still finds time and energy to manage her business affairs and create her masterpieces. Her current works are best described by the sculptor herself, “In creating my new series of sculptures, I used dance movement to express a feeling of visual excitement. My objective is to transform bronze into a symbol of the spirit... inanimate material into pulsating beings. I was concerned with the therapeutic and restorative energy in nature and a sense of hope and optimism it brings”. The combination of fluid lines and the skilful use of advance patina colouring technique makes Wertheimer’s sculptures a treat to the eyes.
The energy and exuberance of Wertheimer’s works make her an ideal candidate for special commissioning. Loe-Van International is greatly honoured to have the rights to represent Wertheimer in Asia.
